Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Annapolis: A Shamrock Filled Month at Dock Street

St. Patrick's Day in Annapolis is a month like no other, and this year promises to be even more special. St. Paddy’s Day has grown to be the biggest and busiest day that bars see all year, even larger than the night before Thanksgiving!

With such a big draw for the Irish holiday, Annapolis continues to have multiple weekends that celebrate it.

Peake Irish Experience

First up this year is the return of the Peake Irish Experience with Peake Social on March 9th where Dock Street is the official check-in sponsor! Bargoers will be treated to specials and giveaways with Guinness and Slane Irish Whiskey for an authentic Irish outing.

Shamrock the Dock

While this next event is not new, the timing of the Shamrock the Dock has changed and is officially scheduled for St. Patrick’s Day Weekend. It kicks off on Saturday, March 16th, and is set to be the highlight of the weekend. Located just steps away from Dock Street, this two-day festival promises another over-the-top Irish celebration with Irish bands, beer, food, and entertainment.

Set under a massive tent adorned with shamrocks and green everywhere, you’ll be able to see Irish jigs and Irish rock ballads from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Before or after you head into the tent, you can check out Dock Street for plenty of cold beer and food to keep you fueled up for the big day.

It’s important to note that Shamrock the Dock is $30 for a single ticket or $60 for a two-day pass. If you just want to go out with your gals or your mates, then Dock Street will be a perfect stop to get in the Irish spirit from 11:30 a.m. all the way to 2 a.m. with our DJ coming on at 9 p.m.

Annapolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade

On St. Patrick's Day, the city shuts down a one-mile path from West Street to Main Street to Dock Street. Come check out the dozens of festive floats represented by different civic groups, businesses, politicians, first responders, local schools, and more! The whole town comes out for this street parade, and the spirit of the holiday can be seen everywhere you look.

Dock Street Bar and Grill is the best place to be to watch the parade finish. You’ll have a great view of the giant Irish flag, hear all the parade announcements, and enjoy some great people-watching. Our second-story window overlooks Ego Alley and the bottom of Main Street, but it’s seated on a first-come, first-served basis.

At Dock Street Bar & Grill, we're proud to be at the heart of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Annapolis and the kickoff of the spring season! Sláinte!
